The Jogan family comes from the small village of Pedrovo above the Vipava valley, but by the 1970s we had already moved to Pobegi and conquered the Istrian way of life. The Jogans have been winemakers for as long as we can remember, and the oldest evidence of this is the front bottom of a barrel from 1892. We are most proud of the fact that we still preserve and use our magnificent, over a century old wooden barrels for wine maturation. When our wine matures, it is accompanied by centuries of memories, imprinted into the barrels. On our five hectares of vineyards, Refosco and Malvasia reign– they are the pride of Istrian varieties. Shiraz, yellow Muscat, Merlot, Vitovska Grganja, Chardonnay and Lipovščica also keep them company. The wine is produced in accordance with the guidelines for integrated production. We also grow 30 olive trees and some fruit trees for home use.
We offer a portion of the varieties in the form of excellent young wines. However, more and more wines, especially Shiraz, Merlot and Refosco, are aged in oak barrique barrels. You are invited to our cellar, where you can taste and buy our products. We have been welcoming guests from Slovenia and the entire world to our two apartments for many years – here, they can experience the true Istrian lifestyle.
